Waiheke Island
I was born on Waiheke Island and grew up at Pritahi Marae. I then moved to Hamilton where my knowledge of the Waikato people grew extensively. My passion for teaching comes from the love to share and nurture the growth and learning of students. I love using the oral traditions of my tipuna, sharing te reo Māori and te ao Māori through storytelling.
I was brought up in te reo Māori from kohanga reo to kura kaupapa and finished off my schooling at Te Wharekura O Ngā Taiatea and consider te reo Māori as my first language.
My teaching experience began in 2017 where I starting training students to do a 101km multi sports event through a Māori world view teaching te reo Māori, takaro Māori and rongoā Māori in 38 kura reo throughout the north island. I have also been teaching Te Reo Māori independently for IT companies based in Auckland for a year.
