Introduction

Kia ora rā! I love teaching te reo because I love anything that promotes and supports the wide and open opportunity for as many people as possible to learn our beautiful reo ☺️ I can help absolute beginner to intermediate level reo speakers with pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary building and audible comprehension. If there’s anything specific you would like to focus on, I’m entirely open to working on that with you too! Nau mai, haere mai!

Experience

I grew up initially learning native reo from my nan and was put through kōhanga reo and kura kaupapa until I was 15 years old. In 2016, I attained proficiency in te reo o Te Pihinga based on the ‘Te Whanake’ curriculum series. Since this I’ve worked teaching te reo to both children and second(+) language learning adults at REAP Ruapehu, Kia Ngutu Huia (Ngāti Hinemanu reo revitalisation initiative), Te Kōhanga Reo o Mōkai Pātea and Te Wharekura o Manurewa. Working through Mokohia and AUT, though not te reo specific roles, helped develop my skills in teaching/assisting a learner - especially in the online format.
